ABOUT THE ARTIST

Fiona Quilter grew up in Redwood City, Santa Cruz, and Woodside, California. She is currently based in Woodside and has been exploring personal art practices and teaching TK-8th grade art in Menlo Park.

 

In 2022, Fiona graduated with a BFA in Studio Arts and a Minor in Integrated Educational Studies from Chapman University. In 2024, Fiona graduated from Columbia University Teachers College with an MA in Art Education with Initial Certification TK-12. 

 

Fiona enjoys working with multiple mediums, techniques, and materials. Her vibrant pieces often make commentary on societal issues such as racism and sexism. Fiona strives to create an intimate connection between her work and the audience as she explores the conflicts of personal identity.

In her free time at both Chapman and Columbia, Fiona is a lifelong member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi and the Black Student Union. In addition to these groups, she is also a lifelong member of the NSLS, NSCS, Mortar Board, and Order of Omega honor societies on campus.
